The prestigeous institution of Nedumkunnam started as a Cambridge school for giving private  education to village students to attend the third forum examination conducted by Cochin Govt.But the locals especially the parishoners have a strong wish to start a recognised school instead of this private institution.With the permission of Bishop MAR.JAMES KALASSERY, Rev.Fr. Vicar at that time Fr.Mathew Alunkal applied for the school.With the help of Late.P.T. CHACKO and Late. P.J.SEBASTIAN we got the recognition on 1949 .Our high school section thus established.First headmaster was      Sri. E.C.JOHN B.A.L.T.On 1951 We got permission to start the U.p section.Today Nedumkunnam is known as the education Centre of the East and the St. Johns shines as the cambridge of this centre.Now Sri JOSEPH ANTONY serve as the head master of the school and Fr. MATHEW PUTHENANGADY  as the local Manager
