        The School was founded in 1950 by Late Rev. Fr. Jacob Akkarakalam, a Christian Missionary priest belonging to the Roman Catholic Syrian Church - St. George’s Church Muttar, Alappuzha

               St. George’s is a school with a difference. The school is a unique mix of the traditional and the modern. It blends old and time-tested values with modern knowledge and state-of-the-art-facilities to shape each and every student into a dynamic personality for ushering into a brighter tomorrow and moulding him or her to be a valuable contributor to society

 PROFILE OF THE SCHOOL

        St. George’s High School Muttar is an aided minority institution which has completed 62 years of its existence and glorious service in the field of education to the Church and Nation.

        During the period the school has rendered a remarkable service to the society, especially to the villagers of Muttar by moulding thousands of young children into intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy, socially acceptable, God-fearing and highly productive citizens of our country. Now, the school is a well established centre of learning offering Kerala State Board syallabus in both English and Malayalam medium.             

        The school is situated in 3.5 acres at Muttar Panchayat in Kuttanad Taluk in the lake district of Alappuzha. There are sixteen class rooms for High School section and six class rooms for Higher Secondary section. High school section which has two buildings has sixteen class rooms and Higher Secondary section which has only one building has six class rooms.

        We have well equipped Computer Lab, Multimedia Room and has a stupendous playground with marvelous basket ball court, reminds us all just how important our effort is for the full development of each and every child. The luxuriant greenery, meandering rivulets and the placid tranquility altogether provide a congenial atmosphere for learning and development.
