Examinations
There will be two termly examinations (Onam & Christmas) and annual examination in an academic year. Assessment or evaluation is a continuous
process in education. In addition to the above mentioned examinations, the school conducts unit tests, monthly tests, assignments, seminars etc. as part of internal evaluation.
In all the examination a student should obtain a minimum (25% for std V to VII and 30% for std VIII to X ) of marks in each subject is required for pass or eligible for higher studies. Students who are absent from examination for any reason will not be re-examined. If a pupil is not able to appear for the whole or part of an examination for valid reasons his / her case will be considered on the strength of the year’s record.
In case a student is found using unfair means in an examination, he/she will be rewarded zero in that paper and debarred from appearing for the rest of the papers. Repetition of the same offence will result in dismissal.
Results of the examination are final. Parents and Guardians are not expected to dictate any terms to the school authorities regarding their child’s promotion or detention which was decided on the merit of the performance of the child.
In the terminal examinations the students are given the following grades according to their performance. (average of total marks)
Class V to VII
A
76% and above
B
Between 60 and 75%
C
Between 45 and 59%
D
Between 25 and 44%
E
Below 25% (Not Eligible for Higher Studies)
