General Rules
|
On all school days and for all school functions, the students should wear the school uniform. Students who come to school without the full uniform must bring a note of excuse from their parents, else they will be sent home. Parents may kindly see that their children come to school in full uniform, neat and clean. |
The school insists on regular school attendance, punctuality and excellence in academic, spiritual and moral concerns |
Religion and moral science classes are arranged for Christians and non- Christians respectively. Every first Friday there will be Holy mass for the Catholic students in the church(St. George Church, Muttar) . The Catholic students have to make use of the religious sources and religious knowledge to their spiritual growth. |
Genuine love and respect for teachers are important values in our Indian tradition. |
Strict regularity, implicit obedience, honesty, courtesy in speech and conduct, cleanliness of dress and person are expected from every pupil. Students and their parents must strictly conform to the instructions, rules and regulation laid down in this regard. |
All the students should make it a point to show themselves courteous and polite at all times. The school is judged by their decorum of behaviour. |
The school work begins at 9.45 am and ends at 4 pm. |
Students must be in their class rooms by the bell at 9.45am. At the second bell, on the days when there is school assembly, all should march in silence to the place assigned to their respective classes on the ground. On other days , they should sit in their classrooms in silence. At the third bell all should stand up for prayer and pledge. |
All the students should reach the school at least five minutes before the warning bell for the assembly. |
Late comers will not be admitted in the class without Head of the Institution’s permission. |
At the end of the day, before the students disperse, there will be National Anthem. |
Silence must be observed in the school premises during the interval. |
School tasks assigned by the teachers should be done punctually. |
If no teacher comes to the class in the 5 minutes after the bell for that period has been given, the class teacher should send his/ her assistant for reporting the matter to the Head of the Institution. In the absence of the teacher, the class leader will be responsible for the order and discipline of the class. |
When the teachers enters or leaves the class, all pupils must stand up. Students should never forget to greet the teachers and elders. They should also greet one another. |
When they move along the corridors while changing classes, students must walk in silence and in single file. They should always keep to the left except of course when all move down the stairs. Teachers should be the last to leave the school. |
All must be on time for class and other school activities. The pupil who was absent the previous day must produce a leave letter duly signed by the parent / guardian. |
In case of illness, extending over a week a medical certificate must be produced before their return to school together with the leave letter. |
If a child continues to be absent for 15 days without permission, his/her name will be struck off the school rolls and in case of rejoining in addition to the admission fee, re-admission fee is payable. Re-admission shall be subject to the Head of the Institution’s direction. |
The school cannot be held itself responsible for books, money or any such articles lost. The Children must look after their own things. It is not advisable for children bring money or valuable articles to the school. |
No books, newspapers, periodicals and the like shall be brought to the school without the sanction of the Head of the Institution. |
Any transaction of articles or money transaction between students is forbidden |
All should be particularly careful not to throw bits of paper and other things anywhere in the school premises. They should use the baskets and waste bins provided for this purpose. |
Students shouldn’t do any damage to school property. They shouldn’t write on or disfigure the walls, furniture or library books. Any damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the Head of Institution. Damage done will be made good by the one who does it. Anyone who sees something damage should report the matter even if he/she doesn’t know who has done it. Each class will be responsible for looking after the class property. |
Pupils are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in the school but also their general behaviour outside. Any report of objectionable conduct outside the school on the part of the pupils make them liable to disciplinary action and even dismissals from the school. |
The school reserves the right to dismiss a student who is irregular in attendance, whose progressin studies is steadily unsatisfactory, whose conduct in the school or outside is harmful to other students, or whose guardians show little or no interest in the progress of their wards. Grave insubordination, discourtesy or disrespect to teachers, contempt of authority, will full damage to the property or physical violence will result in dismissal from the school. |
The wearing of the proper school uniform is obligatory under penalty of exclusion from the class room. |
Fines may be imposed by the Head of the Institution for breaches against regularity discipline. |
Politeness and courtesy of speech and conduct as well as cleanliness of dress and person are to be observed. Honesty both in word and deed must be practiced. |
Students are not allowed to go outside the premises during school hours without permission . |
Students are not permitted to buy eatables from vendors outside the school ground. |
Running and shouting in the school building is not allowed. When using staircase and corridors all must keep to the left. Walking or standing around the office area or the visitors lobby shall be avoided even during recess. |
When the students leave classroom for P.H.E., Library, Laboratory etc., they must walk along the corridors and stairs in single lines and in perfect silence. |
Students are not allowed to remain in the classroom during recess or P.T. periods. Once on the playground they should not return to the class room without the permission of the teacher. |
Any kind of damage done to the properties of the school must be made good intact. |
Parents must meet the class teacher at least once in a month to asses the performance of their wards. They should appointments with teacher before hand. |
The final assessment of pupil at the end of the academic year is based on his / her performance in projects , assignments, unit tests, termly examination etc. |
No pupil will be promoted before the end of the school year. |
Only the class leaders are allowed to enter the staff room |
Cycles must be kept locked in the place provided. The school will not be responsible for the safety or security of cycles. No student is permitted to bring a scooter to the school. |
No gifts to the members of the staff or other demonstration in their honour will be allowed without the permission of the Head of the Institution. |
In the event of a hartal / unexpected holiday during examination, that day’s examination will be conducted at a later date. While the rest of the examination will continue as per schedule. |
Uses of mobile phones, calculators, cameras and other electronic equipments are strictly prohibited in the school campus and those who act against will be punished. |
Riding bicycle in the school campus is not allowed. Those who come by bicycle have to keep the bicycle in the allotted places. |
Pupils come by vehicles have to follow the road safety rules strictly. |
School Uniform

The wearing of the prescribed uniform is obligatory children will not be allowed to sit in the class, If they are dressed differently. The following is the uniform now in force : |
Class V to VII
|
Boys : Ash pant with inserted Red-Ash checked, half sleeved shirt and belt with red and white stripes. |
Girls : A Ash skirt and inserted Red-Ash checked, half sleeved shirt, belt with red and white strips and red ribbon. |
Class VIII to X
|
Boys : Ash pant with inserted Red-Ash checked, half sleeved shirt and belt with red and white strips. |
Girls : Churidar with Ash bottom, Red-Ash checked half sleeved top, Red ribbon and Ash shawl. |
Absence and Leave
|
Regular attendance id expected from every student. No student shall absent himself/herself from the class without the prior permission of the class teacher or the Head of the Institution. If prior permission cannot be obtained for reasons beyond control, an application for leave signed by the parent should be submitted to the Head of the Institution or class teacher on the day of arrival. |
No leave is granted on examination days or monthly tests or on the reopening day after each vacation and on the last working day before the commencement of each vacation. Absence from test papers and examinations will be considered serious beach of discipline. In case of illness a medical certificate must be produced. |
Repeated extended absence for fifteen consecutive days or more without leave application renders the student liable to have his/her name removed from the rolls. Re-admission, if granted will only be after payment of fresh admission fee. |
A student who fails consecutively in the same class will not be permitted to continue his/her study in the school. |
No student will be sent home even in urgent need, unless a duly authorised person come to the school to take him / her. |
The Transfer Certificate of a student is issued during office hours after verifying that all dues to the school have been cleared. Request for T. C. should be given in writing at least two weeks before. Such request should be made by the parent on behalf of the pupil. |

Library Rules.
|
All students are allowed to borrow books from the Library. |
Bags, eatables and personal books or magazines shall not be brought into the library. They shall be left outside. |
Strict silence shall be observed in the library. |
No one may take any book from the library unless issued by the librarian. |
Only one book will be issued at a time, on the appointed days and it should be returned within fifteen days. |
The librarian may call for the return of a particular book even before the expiry of the due date. |
Reference books and periodicals should not be taken out from the library. Books and magazines should be handled carefully. Damage done to them will have to be made good by the borrower / reader. |
No student shall scribble, write or make any marking or indications either in ink or pencil or by tucking in the edges of the book or tamper with them. Cases detected contrary to this shall be taken up seriously and fines imposed at the discretion of the librarian. |
In case of the loss of a library book, the borrower should either buy the same and replace it or double the price of the book should be paid as penalty. |
Borrower should report any damage , loss of pages, pictures etc. to the librarian before they accept books. |
Books borrowed are non-transferable |
A borrower who doesn’t return a book by the due date may be allowed a grace period of one week. If he/she doesn’t return the book even after the grace period, he/she is to pay a fine 50 paise per day. |
All books must be returned a week before the beginning of each terminal examination and year end examination. T.C. and admit card to public examinations will not be issued until a clearance certificate is obtained from the librarian. |
In the event of loss of a book, a new and exact one of the lost one or double it’s amount shall be accepted. |
A student not paying a fine or guilty of disobedience to the librarian, renders himself/herself liable to suspension from the use of library. |
Each student is entitled to take out on loan one book at a time while each teacher id entitled to take out 2 books at a time and keep the same for fifteen days. |
Tradition to be kept up

To be always friendly with one another and respectful towards the elders in and out of school. |
To avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour. |

To rise up when any father, sister, teacher or visitor enter or passes through any room in which you happen to be alone or in the class-mates. |

To avoid throwing bits or sheets of papers in school premises or out of the windows and to pick up such papers when found. |
To be courteous and sports man- like with officials and with opposing teams of different houses. |
Always be truthful and honest whatever the cost. |
Be quick to learn and observe good manners at table and elsewhere. |
Always be ready to lent a helping hand to his / her parents, brothers and sisters, in school to his / her teachers and companions or any unattended visitors he / she happens to meet in school premises. |
Never quarrel, cheat or be unfair at play. |
Respect the beauty of his / her class rooms and of the school premises, and report any damage he / she may observe. |
Never hesitate to say “No” when asked or tempted to do a thing which he / she knows to be wrong. |
To respect the freedom and rights of others. |
Above all, find time to spend sometime in prayer. |
